"What do you MEAN, I HAVE to put CLOTHES ON?!?!?!?!?!"

Family Oriented Resorts

The previous thread was a good idea and reminded me that we probably need to make a distinction. This being a FAMILY group. NOT ALL nudist resorts are FAMILY oriented. Some are actually anti-children. Not to say that ADULTS-ONLY establishments are BAD. Just that you don't want to take the kids there, and thus, it's not Family-Friendly. SOOO, time to make a listing of those clubs known to be family friendly. Please keep the emphasis on landed clubs, as it's hard to take the family to travel club gatherings. I'll open.
I know that Cedar Trails Nudist Retreat in Peebles Ohio, is a family resort. The owners are very family oriented and several families have lived on the resort. It makes for a nice setting even if just the husband and wife go. I have seen kids there from time to time and, kinda like all places that kids are, most of the adults keep an eye out, once a parent... (I still jump when I hear "daddy" yelled by children, even though mine are grown). The owners are well aware of the issues of children at nudist resorts. I do not believe that there has ever been a complaint relating to a family situation, but you can just check with them directly.
Thanks,
j

RE: Family Oriented Resorts

Solair in Conn is also a family resort. They are very protective over the children and it was a delight watching the families there playing in the pool and out by the beach. It all seemed so natural and innocent. Gary

I've only been to 1 resort and I'm fairly new to the lifestyle, but Pinetree Associates in MD seemed very family friendly.

RE: Family Oriented Resorts

I have to agree with the previous comment about aanr and family resorts.   All resorts within aanr are family friendly or they won't be an aanr resort for long.  My kids went to Olive Dell Ranch, Glen Eden Sun Club, Swallows Sun Island, Fern Hills, 40 acre, Mountain Air Ranch, Cypress Cove and Blue Lake.

RE: Family Oriented Resorts

Star Ranch near McDade, Texas (just east of Austin) is family friendly.  There are times you may visit and not see many or any kids and then other times there can be quite a few of all ages. Typically holiday weekends bring in more families and they have special games and events for kids.  Their web site usually highlights these activities.  It is important with kids, especially those new to nudism, to take them to a resort that is not only family oriented in theory, but actually has plenty of other kids there in reality to help make them feel comfortable and have the best time.  Nothing worse than taking kids to a resort on a day when there are virtually all adults there, friendly as they may be.
I agree 100% on Star Ranch and introducing kids to social nudism at a place that is not all adults. We have been to Star Ranch a few times and they do a good job making sure there are things for kids. We have found probably the best time to take kids, in addition to holiday weekends, is when one of the resorts is hosting a 5K run. There are a lot of families with children present at the runs.

There are

such places in the US where kids are not accepted, just there are club that

will not accept single males. Having travel in Europe I have found that the

Europeans are more acceptance and liberal to the human body and family. It is

hard to understand why we here have so hang ups on the issue of family nudity.

In Australia, we find although all resorts are family friendly they don't offer much for kids. We have even been frowned upon by the older residents for disturbing their peace!

Loves being naked, plays well with others!

RE: Family Oriented Resorts = Europe

We have 4 nudist clubs/resorts witin 30 mins - 2 hrs away.  Our closest is Glen Eden, where we are members.  Next is Olive Dell about 40 mins away and Deer Park about an hour away and last ... DeAnza Springs which is 2 hrs away.  ALL of them are good for families.  I've seen MORE families, kids at Glen Eden and Olive Dell.  Haven't been to Deer Park in a few years and the day we went to DeAnza was a weekday and so the kids could have been in school.   We've only heard of La Jenny in France from some friends that vacationed there for many, many year with their daughters.  The girls continued to go and partake in naturism well into their teens but school/college put a damper on their travels abroad.   We did take our family, daughters, SIL and grandchildren to Club Orient on the island of St. Martin.  They loved it!  They all want to return but I can't afford to pay for it again ... so they are saving for a return trip in another year to two.  :D

RE: Family Oriented Resorts

I can speak from experience and say that Cypress Cove (Kissimee) and Sunsport Gardens (West Palm Beach) are family friendly and both are wonderful resorts. Cypress Cove is more "elegant" while Sunsport is more "rustic" but both are very much worth visiting. I wish I could visit more frequently!
