who knows without thinking that bare skin and water go together as
wings go with air, roots with earth, and the phoenix with incendiary

First Time Nudist Experience (Post Trip...ugh)

Well, I finally was able to make the 2 hour drive to the closest camp to me for my highly anticipated first venture into social Nudism, and let me tell you I was VERY underwhelmed.

Upon arrival, of course I checked in and paid my daily dues then asked for directions to the nature trail....I parked my car, packed my bag, and walked to the head of the trail, which I was very excited about...I disrobed, and immediately felt overjoyed to be going on a naturist hike (assuming the trail was at least a mile or two long)...so I set out...passed two guys lounging on towels on the side of the trail so I gave them a fleeting "How ya doin?".....NO response...so I kept walking...passed another guy on the trail...gave him a cordial wave and he nodded back...then to my chagrin I reached the end of the trail...all of 50 yards from the start! There were two guys sitting on benches at the end of the trail...I said "So this is the end huh?" there was a long pause then one of them said "Yup"....I promptly turned around and headed back to the trail head...when I got close to the first two guys again, they stopped their conversation and both gave me the stink eye until I was well passed them, then they resumed their conversation!

Kind of confused at this point, I decided to check out the pool...So I walked in the gate, put my bag on a chair, and bathed myself real quick in the shower...I got in the pool and started wading around, and to my astonishment the first group I was going to approach and talk to was talking about swinging...so I got out and got my book and hopped back in and just kind of stayed to myself and knocked out a chapter...while I was in the pool I heard a SEPARATE group talk about swinging...I got out, dried off, and sat at a table and kept reading...I tried to talk to another guy sitting near me, and he was short with me, and wouldn't even turn my way to speak...so I got up, packed my things and got the hell out of dodge.

I am pretty disappointed in my first trip, but I'm not going to let it dampen my spirit. I wont be going back to that camp in the near future though..mark my words!

RE: First Time Nudist Experience (Post Trip...ugh)

That sucks man! My experience at "nudist resorts" are similar. The first place I went to, had a very big swinger vibe to it.  Its a very reputable resort in Northern California.  Nothing overt, but I felt the swinger vibe all around me. I was told that evening by a gentlemen at the bar, that he remembered me and welcome back! I told him, "it was my 1st time there." his reply was, "I'm sure my wife remembers you too!!"  Next resort was here in Southern Cal. Again, nothing really overt, but I felt the vibe.  3rd resort, probably the largest in Southern Cal, didn't have a swinger vibe, but as a single male, I was given a very cold shoulder.  I stick to the beaches, rivers, streams, and trails, that are known to be nudist friendly places.  I don't need to spend money to feel out of place. Good Luck!! I hope it gets better for you!

If the club / resort you are talking about is the same one that you mention in another forum post, then I would definitely do something. These people advertise themselves via website as a 'family friendly' environment, and to be so blatantly opposite is an outrage. I am visiting a club for the first time this weekend as well, and I sure hope my experience isn't anything like yours!

I went to whispering pines in north Carolina this past weekend.  I am 35 and I think I was the youngest person there.  I'm told Bar S ranch has more of a family vibe.  Will try that next

RE: First Time Nudist Experience (Post Trip...ugh)

I couldnt help but post something on here about your experience.  I too went to Indian Hills back in July and was pretty disappointed.  I have a beautiful girlfriend and we visit Emerald Lake in Porter, TX rather frequently, but since we live in central louisiana, we had always wanted to try Indian Hills but after talking to several people on this site, I kept getting that it was more a swinger oriented club.  Well, my girlfriend was out of the country for a few weeks and I decided to try it one weekend.  First of all, I realized once I got there that single males are NOT welcome!!!!  I had to initiate almost every conversation that I had.  I was there from the time they opened on Saturday morning til around 4pm sunday afternoon.  I stayed by or in the pool most of the day saturday.  Fished in the so called pond they have there, which was all but dried up.  I too did the nature trail and was very disappointed.  I too ran into several males on the trail and they too gave me the stink eye.  Saturday nite I went to the karaoke event in the clubroom.  It was packed and there was definitely some separation of class in there.  It was very obvious who the nudists were, the first timers were, who the swingers were and who the "click" was.  I had to get drunk to enjoy myself.  I met some first time African Americans who had came that nite for a birthday.  I ended up partying with them for most of the nite.  The next day, I was at the pool early and met some really nice people and had a much better time on sunday.  I guess all the swingers were too pooped to come out and relax with the real nudists on sunday.  Well, to make a long story even longer, I won't be going back unless I bring my girlfriend with me and she has no desire to go somewhere like that.  We are totally hooked on Emerald Lake.  There are plenty of couples, singles and all around good people that attend.  EVERYONE is friendly and absolutely no foolishness is tolerated.  If someone is acting inappropriate or passing off bad vibes, the management will have a little talk with them and either they change theiri attitude or they are asked to leave.  They truly are all about relaxing and enjoying nature.  Plus, the lake is great!!!  They have paddleboats, kayaks, and really good fishing.  The clubhouse is great too.   They have rooms to rent in the clubhouse, a kitchen where you can cook your own food, video games, pool, foozball.  And every saturday nite they have karaoke and it is an absolute blast.  Now, you wont find any swimsuit models or "beautifu" people there.  But that shouldnt matter.  They are all real lovable people and we have met some lifelong friends there.  We cant wait to go back!!!! I hope this helps.  Dont be discouraged from your first nudist experience.  There are good places and people out there. Ben and Kat
