While recently looking for a place to be nude while travelling recently, I came across a website that stated that "particular spot" was a unofficial nude spot, and as it is unofficial, I decided to do a google search of that spot.  It turns out that this spot is also  listed as a Dogging (sex in public) on a number of (no offence just relating the facts) gay websites, as well as swinger and dogging websites.
This got me thinking, and decided to Google a number of locations, both official and unofficial, and out of 15 nude locations, at least 12 were listed on gay websites, swinger websites and dogging websites as a place to either see public sex, take part in public sex.  
Now how are we supposed to lobby for more nude beaches, parks, recreational areas, when there is so much information out their with people turning our nude spots into places to get it on.  and again no offence, but it seems to be coming mainly from the Gay community.
How can we change this perception, it seems to me, that the more this goes on, and if something happens and the media gets onto it, we are likely to loose our few beaches, and be stuck with having to go to resorts with memberships, and strict rules on who can and can't go there (eg single males)
has anyone else come across this problem?  If not try typing your local nude beach into google, and see what comes up.

The 'live and let live' attitude of some towards the beach 'activities' will see us all lose our nude places - sad isn't it?

As a nudist who often goes to the beach with my 3 year old I would get very angry if there was overt sexual activities taking place. I am not what you would call backwards at coming forwards so would confront those engaged and if necessary report them to the police, it is handy having a camera on the phone.

You want to keep your nude spots, sometimes you have to fight for them.

If I can get my wife to go to a venue, I will choose a landed resort over a beach for one reason, a gatekeeper. Though not perfect it is better than nothing for keeping undesirables out.

Hi all, I'm fairly new the experience of going nude at the beach (& even newer to the site, excuse the lack of pics lol!), but encountered this exact problem yesterday... I myself am a gay man, happily partnered to another guy who has no interest in going nude in public who also has concerns about what goes on at nudist spots. I've been hitting a local beach solo more out of spiritual/meditation reasons than anything and have been trying to convince him it's all above board, however I can't help but notice that when I go I often end up on the receiving end of stares of other solo men who somehow think my being there alone is an open invite to park themselves right next to me... Just yesterday I found myself on a beach which ended up being only men, constantly going in and out of the dunes and not being shy about indicating for me and others to follow. Not only does this end up leaving me feeling uncomfortable and more than a little exposed, it also defeats my purpose of going in order to feel that safety and connection with the surroundings... I'm not too sure what exactly to do about the situation, as reports only tend to confirm the local conservatives' fears and put the beach at risk of closure, as well as putting me in a position where my partner has every reason to be concerned. Any suggestions?

If anything closes down nude beaches or other venues fast, it will be the overly enthusiastic gays that will do it. I havent seen any activity, but would strongly discourage anything of the sort, if it were present..
 Its not right... I like to know that where I go is a safe place for nudity where I can bring my friends and family in a friendly, family oriented way, on the few nude beaches we have around here.. I wish there were more close by, and only by being good hosts of our nude places, will we see more.

Best thing to do is call the cops. We have to reclaim our hard one nude beaches!
