No 2011 skinny dip record

Apparently, AANR had decided that since Guiness didn't list the dips for 2009 and 2010, there was no purpose in conducting another one this year. There are other events planned for Nude Recreation Week, but it appears that the dips are history. C'est la vie.

I heard something different from AANR-East. I had an e-mail from Gloria (can't remember the last name) when I asked about whether there was going to be a skinny dip in 2011 or not. The answer was there would be no skinny dip this year due to the amount of work it was for clubs and resorts to organize...so to give them a break, they are looking to have the skinny dip every other year. So, hopefully there will be one in 2012.

This year's event ...

American Association for Nude Recreation President Susan Weaver has announced this year's event for Nude Recreation Week.

We all had a great deal of fun the past two years setting and beating our own world record for simultaneous skinny-dipping. However, there is a great deal of paperwork involved and several event coordinators begged for at least a year of respite.

As it turns out, challenging an existing record is somewhat simpler than establishing a new one, and our PR Team has identified an existing record they think it will be fun to try and break -- simultaneous hula hooping. So this July 9th, clubs and locales that want to register as part of this event will simultaneously set those hoops a-spinning to set a new world record.

AANR to Sponsor Guinness Hula-Hoop World Record Attempt

Fascinating, but VTY won't be participating in it. Getting into a pool is one thing, but hula hoops require a waist that's narrower than the hips, and it has been decades since that described me. :-)

I had no problem in getting the recorded info or taking the photo and such. Granted though, we had under 30 people those past two years. We will be doing our canoe trip, I believe it to be the 16th year, to celebrate National Nude Weekend.

Many clubs said that yes, it was fun to do the hula hoop, but that was a clothed event to try to break a record.
