Awesome place for first time visit
Reviewed on : June 29th 2016
Date of Stay : June 23rd 2016

This was our first time going to a nudist resort and we could not have picked a better place to go. It is hard to know where to start. The moment we got there, the level of service was amazing. Karen at the front desk made the check in process and tour of the facilities easy and fun. We showed up to our room and there was a small gift basket with a hand written card waiting for us. This was because when we made the reservations 6 months before, someone noted that we would be celebrating our anniversary. These small touches make a huge difference. The room was clean and comfortable. We chose not to stay in one of the remodeled villas. For us, that was fine as we spent very little time in the room. Why hide in the room when you can enjoy being clothes free in the sun instead. These unremodeled rooms were a little dated in decor but they were still well kept and clean. The restaurants on site were excellent. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The portions at Cheeks were huge. If you are going to get a sandwich there, consider sharing it with your significant other. The service at the restaurants and bar were fantastic. Anna was our server the first night at the Lakeside restaurant. She was so friendly and took great care of us. We were delighted to see her behind the bar as well at Cheeks late in the weekend. Herman was absolutely fantastic tending bar at Scuttlebutts. A great personality that had us laughing through the night. Gary is the main bartender at Cheeks. He is a fixture at the resort and after the first time he meets you, he remembers your name. He makes it feel like you are at your local bar and have been going there for years. For activities nothing beats being able to sit nude by either of the very well maintained pools. The water temperature was refreshing and the pools were in amazing shape. The only thing I would have like to see was some more options for a little shade. There are 4 structures around each of the pools but those spots got snapped up very quickly. People that either live on site or camp bring umbrellas but that does not help those unlucky ones like us that have to fly in to get there. An option to borrow or rent umbrellas would be a great thing. Another activity that we were introduced to was pickleball. This is a fun sport - look it up. The locals that play there all time time were so friendly and they welcomed a newbie like myself in immediately. They taught me the game, gave tips on how to play, and included me immediately in the group of players. You can borrow a racquet at the office but the experienced players would not let me use that one. They insisted I use one of their spare racquets. The only regret we had was paying for a rental car because as soon as we got on the property, there was no reason or desire to leave. When our stay was done, we both sadly put on clothes for the first time since getting there and regretfully drove away already planning for our next trip to the Cove.

Pros
Everything...the staff, the grounds, the restaraunts

Cons
Having to leave

Parrothead Weekend
Reviewed on : January 09th 2016
Date of Stay : July 22nd 2015

Wife and I stay there several times a year we only live like 140 miles from there. This place is wonderful, grounds clean, staff friendly, restaurant and Cheeks bar are great and very reasonably priced. We go enough now 3-4 times a year that the staff recognizes us. We love to take our walks after dinner through the residences, go down and relax by the lake and I'll have a cigar and beer. The people who live and work there are extremely friendly. The first time I brought my wife there she wanted to buy a place. This last stay in July was a bitter sweet stay. We brought one of our friends who we met on the nude cruise in 2014, during that cruise I told them about Cypress Cove, they came to visit in June of 2014 and I took them there. It was the first time they were at a nudist resort and she loved it. They made plans to sell their house up north, buy a motorhome and move into CC. They bought the motorhome in July when they got home. They joined us on the Feb 2015 cruise, sold the house when they got home ready to move down here and she suddenly passed away 28 days after selling the house. So her husband joined us in July to go back to CC where his wife wanted to move. Hard on all of us but the Parrothead weekend was going on. It was a great time and we were able to talk about how she loved that kind of thing and how she would've loved it. That CC weekend cheered my buddy up. CC always has great events, breast cancer, 5K runs awesome place all around. If you've been thinking about it just pull the trigger you won't regret it. From the minute I get there I strip and for the next 4-5 days I stay completely naked awesome vacations.

Pros
Everything NEVER had a problem and stayed at least 8 times

Cons
None I can think of

I'm on vacation

It does not matter if I'm there for a weekend or just a couple hours. As soon as the clothes drop, I'm on vacation. The facilities are beautiful and it caters to a variety of nudist and naturist. You can camp, boat, lay by the pool or sit at the bar and watch a game.rrOh, and you can visit the spa for a massage.

Pros
Friendly, fun, relaxing

Cons
a bit of a drive, but not bad

Very good first experience. We'll be back.
Reviewed on : July 10th 2015
Date of Stay : July 06th 2015

Monday night through Thursday morning, July 6-9, 2015. 3 nights in the "Remodeled" Villa. This was our first visit to a CO resort. Cypress Cove is pretty much a weekend resort. That is, most of the activities happen on the weekend and that is when all the shops and services are open/available. Keep in mind that the cons I listed are only cons because of the hours and days of our stay. Staff: Fantastic! From the front desk to housekeeping to the maintenance guy who reset our oops on the room safe (how did we mess it up? Dunno, we're both experienced with those safes). These people are the pinnacle of service for first time visitors and, I expect, for regulars and residents as well. Paddle boarding: Tuesday and Wednesday morning, we ate some great breakfasts at the Lakeside Restaurant (note, they don't really understand the concept behind cheese grits). After breakfast, we went over to the office and checked out some paddles for the two stand-up paddle (SUP) boards. Neither of us had ever stood on a SUP before. She decided to remain seated on the board. I was totally surprised that I was able to stand up while we paddled around the circumference of the lake. It was absolutely beautiful and wild. While we didn't see any gators, we did hear some rather large splashes. Heard bull frogs, saw egrets, and other Florida fauna. There are DEFINITELY fish in the lake and we'll be bringing our tackle on the next visit. Sunning: After paddle boarding on the lake, we cooled down in one of the two pools and caught some more rays around either/both pools. Seating was no problem - they must have about 300 chaise lounges all around the property. Shade was a premium around the "Conversation" pool, but Cheeks bar & grill is right there between the pools with outside seating in the shade. Elsewhere on the property and near the lake, there are chairs/chaise lounges in the sun or under big oaks and cypress trees with that wonderful southern sight hanging from every limb - Spanish Moss. Dinners/lunches: We had our afternoon/evening meals at Cheeks Bar & Grill. The Turkey Cypress Melt was VERY good - no skimping on the grilled onions or the cheese. The Tuesday tacos were, well, meh. I've already written too much about them. The Bang-bang shrimp were absolutely delicious - including the potato fries that came with them. Activities: As mentioned, we thoroughly enjoyed paddle boarding on the lake. For the most part, we were just there to relax and have a little mini-vacation. But even during these non-weekend days, there was plenty going on. Tennis, pickle ball, bingo and other activities. And Ms Nude did have a wonderful massage near the pool. And that is saying a lot since she is a licensed massage therapist herself! Wednesday evening, Toby and Cindy played some good folk music and some sixties/seventies music that we danced to. We didn't stay through more than their 2nd set, so I don't know what else they played. Apparently, weekends are where it's at if you want lots of choices. But even being there during there "off" days, there is more than enough to do. Clientele: We saw nearly all age groups represented. Tiny tots through teens, a few 30-somethings and many 50's and up. We didn't notice any 20-somethings there, but it is hard to tell these days, eh? We saw all shades of tan, from none at all, to extremely dark. I only happened to notice one black couple, but there may have been more - and some of other races, but I really wasn't trying to notice racial diversity. Everybody was very friendly and easy to talk to. I really enjoyed being able to walk to the store, the grill, the pool, or just around the resort without ever having to put on a stitch of clothing. Maintenance, grounds keeping, and other workers were seen with or without clothing. Residents were going about their business (walking dogs, trimming hedges, checking mail, etc...) in all states of dress/undress. With the exception of the pools where nudity is required, nobody cared how much or how little clothing you were wearing. It is truly a clothing optional environment. We will definitely go there again and will try to spend a week so that we can try out the other features not available on weekends. In her words, "It was the most incredible experience, it was dreamy."

Pros
Too many to list. See review

Cons
Lakeside Restaurant: Open for breakfast, but closed the rest of the day. Scuttlebutt Lounge: Closed Fig Leaf Boutique: Closed
