It's worth the drive

I finally decided to try out a resort for the very first time, and I am glad I picked this one. I was very nervous about my first visit, but everyone there made me feel welcome. I visited here with a friend, we both enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. The pool was very inviting and the hot tub was great. They had hiking trails there, which I did not journey on, but will next visit. I enjoyed setting beside the lake and watching the fish jump up out of the water. Staff here is very friendly, willing to help and seem like family. The restaurant had great food and the whole resort was clean and well kept. Great place to relax and to get away from stress for a while...

Just made my first trip to Cherokee Lodge, stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. To start with it was very easy to find, immediately off the Interstate yet quite and private. My room in the lodge was comfortable. The staff, WOW, every one of them went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The food was out of this world! You can't get cooking like that in a 5 star restaurant.
The only drawback, not a lot to do in cold or rainy weather. The hot tub was inside and it was very nice but you can only handle so much hot tub.
Would be nice to have a bigger game room, enclosed and heated. Maybe some air hockey, foosball, etc. It is a family resort and thats cool but a fenced off "adult's only" section could be nice as well.
I will def be going back. Well worth the time and trip!!

Facilities are obviously well cared for. The pool was warm and very relaxing, hot tub is very nice. I rented an upstairs room in the lodge. The bed was a bit older, but I slept well. Staff and other guests were very friendly. This is the third resort I have visited. I have been to Drakes Ridge in Indiana, Rock Haven in Tennessee and Cherokee Lodge. Of the three, Cherokee Lodge is far and above the very best of the three. I highly recommend it.
Pros
The resort is located in a rustic area, lots of trees and hiking trails

A great place to get away from civilization, noise, and the pressure of life. Gorgeous, rustic setting in the woods with lots of great trails, and with so much acreage, you don't feel cramped. The folks are always great to be around, too.
