1.My Travels - 1st stop Thailand S*

I am writing on my lap on wayto Bangkok airport and its amazing as there has been a huge thunder storm and many streets awash with water.. pleased I left hotel early went to tailor inmorning and then had my feet done.. the pedicure 150 baht which is the equivilent of$5 could imagine that inSydney!! was so good to have
them done after all this time with the broken toe and I had that painted Its was very sadto be leave however I could not have wished for a better start to mymagical journey!! It has sure started in the right way and I am so blessed tohave a wonderful friend in Sam and a have his driver able totake me to places and see things.. yet I also switched off and relaxed. . The first night we went walking around the local districtas I needed to move my body after sitting.. I was no where near as impressed with Thai airlines as I was lasttime I flew with them 5 yrs ago,however that could be because it was from Sydney to Bangkok.I hit the wall atabout 1.00am Sydney time after one glass of champagne next day (Friday)my friend hadto work from home so off I went to tailors with his driver who I called Chai!! He is awesome to say the least.whichwas an experience in it self from
the very start Chai and I become goodfriends he is a fun person with a very good reasonable understanding of english..we got back to my friends place span and heand I had lunch before heading out to a work function for the world cup which I was included in the invite Itwas very interesting and I was the only one there who knew how to say "Welcome" in a language from Sth Africaso they made me get up infront of all there and say it.. mind you encouraged and egged on by my friend ;"We left earlish due tothe noise of African music ..
which we could listen to but thehigh pitch of Thai female voice over the music after an hour or so was a little hard and most of the nightwas spoken n thai.and went for a Thai dinner as one does LOL in Bangkok to a
place called Cabbages & Condoms. The resturant was started by a lady whowas concerned about the population continuing to grow at an alarming rate inThailand and the efforts of the government were not working.. On ones table areyellow red and orange condoms in design , models of people as you enter the
resturant all dressed in same coloured condoms and when one leaves there are nomints or sweets given to you , they give you a condom!!! The food is fabulousand definitely not expensive"I have got very usedthe way the Thai people drive and one has to always watch out for the Tut Tuts(motorbikes which take 2 to 3 people and as covered seating like a surry!)and scooters who seem to own theroad.When the lights go green attraffic lights its like the start to a motor bike race "The Thai peopleare so nice and I have got used to
saying (excuse the spelling) kup n kar which means Thank you or your welcome . as you say it you fold your
hands in a prayer like gesture just in front of ones face and slightly bow the head.. I think its a beautiful gesture all around.."Sunday went with Chai back to cabbages and condoms resturant then to Patpong road ( the Bangkok redlight district) but was somewhat quieterthan normal then it began to rainoh my gosh when it rains here its a torrent of water and floods everything Ibrought a leather bag there for a ridiculous amt so cheap and its genuine leather Monday was day of departure, went to tailor and haggled on price as he hadnot done a good job but hey .. so now off to the airport in afternoonIt was sad to leave Bangkok and chai as my friend had gone to
Mumbai the day before .. But I was on to my next adventure,, in Ahbu Dhabi and
Dubai
