I have gone through a love hate relationship with my body hair. As a young man in my 20s I thought, like many people my age then, that body hair wasn't looked upon as attractive. I tried shaving smooth was that was a never ending battle that I quickly decided was not worth the effort. Then I went to clippers and just trimmed everything down short while getting my wife to use hair removal creams on my back to keep that smooth. The amount of ingrown hairs I got on my back was horrendous, and the pain that came with it quickly made me rethink that. So I decided to embrace the fact I am a hirsute man. A few times a year I will trim back my pits, mostly because I sweat a lot and don't want to smell from that and shorter pit hair means my deodorant works more effectively. And I trim back my pubes because I personally like the look of that. I don't shave anything anymore, in fact quite the opposite. I let my hair grow out long, I have a big full beard, my entire body is covered in hair from my head to my toes. I will say, my body hair isn't as dark as my head or beard hair, so I don't think its as visible until I get wet. Once I get wet the hair becomes far more visible and you can really see how hairy I am. Would I want more body hair? I guess it wouldn't bother me if I was hairier. But I have zero to desire to try and be smooth bodied, and honestly I wouldn't want less body hair either.
I deal with the body hair that I have. Sometimes I trim it on chest and pubic area but I never shave. On the other hand, today I'm wishing that I had shaved an area where I had a recent minor surgery, because pulling the tape off when I change the dressing is driving me nuts! LOL
