Good morning
Most of my experiences were great hiking free. Most of the time people just smiled

RE:Naked hiking experiences

I love to hike with nothing. I don't like to carry or wear anything, sometimes, not even shoes. Although lately I have started wearing barefoot shoes, and sometimes I carry water in a bottle bag. (bag has a pocket for emergency shorts or phone.) So last year, I drove about 90 miles to part of the National Forest, found an old service road, (better for barefoot hiking, and much more private). I parked my pick=up, and hopped out with nothing but my key fob, which I hid on the vehicle and took off walking. It was about 59 F (15C). I probably walked about 2 hours before I turned around to head back. Believe it or not, I walked to the edge of a steep slope that ended in a lake, which of course I hopped in to cool off. I was strolling along at a pretty good rate so I had developed a film of sweat. The cool water was just what I needed. Once I started back, a couple light showers was refreshing and cooled me off nicely. I finally got back to the truck and got in to leave. I had so much fun, I did not want to leave. I was not finished being outside naked. I drove 100 yards or so, still naked, and saw an interestng feature that I wanted to investigate for potential future exploration. I stopped and hopped out to walk over to see. Suddenly, it was very cold. (Temp had not change, but after my sweating etc, I realized just how chilly a damp naked body could get in 59 F weather.) I only walked 30 or so feet, but by the time I returned to my truck again, I was shaking so bad, even my head was shaking beyond control. I cranked my heater up and drove on. That was not my last adventure, but it was probably the last major one that was bug free. In warmer weather, I have a host of biting flies, horse flies, gnats, skeeters and all maner of flying things. Once, there was either a buzzard or the largest damn fly I have ever seen, and they all circle my head like a halo taking turns flying up my nose, in my ears, or eyes. Makes for a pretty miserable experience. Sprays etc seem to have no effect. I got some essential oils and made my own concoction, but it does not seem to do much either.
