My camera's brand is Nikon, the D5000 model with a display that can be turned out. The shop advised me to take a 18-200 Sigma lens which was a good choice.

I have two that I use regularly. A Nikon CoolPix P5000 and a CoolPix P500. I didn't want to spend the money on a DSLR when I was going to take them out in the woods so much but I wanted models that would shoot in full manual mode as well as be easy enough to pass over to my wife to use once my son is born.
I'm pleased with them. However I do need to figure out a way to use a remote shutter.
