Favorite Trails for a Naked Hike

Yesterday I had a wonderful 7.2 mile hike, of which 6.9 was skyclad, on one of my favorite trails for naked hiking off of Rabbit Ears Pass. With the exception of hunting season, I have never seen anyone on the trail. Anyone else have a favorite trail in Colorado for a long naked hike? No selfies, but I did upload a couple of pictures from the trail to my media page (pending approval).

RE:Favorite Trails for a Naked Hike

Added another 7.0 mile trail to my catalog of good naked hiking trails. Old logging roads are the best. Really the only people that use them are hunters in the fall, and the deer and elk. The elk are mostly responsible for the single track trails on these old roads, and because they were roads, they are less susceptible to be blocked by deadfall. The have a lot of features that make them good for naked hiking, like a limited trailhead, often with room for one car.

RE:Favorite Trails for a Naked Hike

I 100% concur that old (closed) logging roads are the best for nude hiking! I've been hiking them for 40+ years, both recently blocked, or overgrown from lack of recent logging entry. The wildlife prefer them for ease of travel and browsing the open areas, and so create a "single track" as you describe, that is too faint and obscure for mountain bikers/regular hikers to pursue (also makes them more prone to ticks though). Most logging areas and associated roads don't have activity but every 10+ years, making them very unlikely places for a freehiker to be seen (however, roads that have only been recently closed by a locked gate could have frequent traffic for other forestry treatments. Gauge use by the tire tracks.) Happy hiking! -- Nudeprewd 9/22/2017
