Hermann Hesse

In the US german author Hermann Hesse was (or is, I don't know) very popular for his books Steppenwolf and Siddhartha. Does anyone know, that he was a nudist, too? He visited the Monte Verita (Hill of Truth in Italian-speaking Switzerland Tessin) to get cured from his drinking problem. And he enjoyed naked bathing in a lake by his house, naked climbing on a mountain etc. But he wasn't a hardcore nudist. His books are still in my mind.

I understand C.S. Lewis was a nudist, too.

C. S. Lewis certainly has enough naked characters in his novels to be classified as a "Naturist Writer".

Interesting to learn about Hesse being nude-positive. His writings do explore inner experience and growth, so I'm guess I'm not too surprised that he could appreciate nudity.. But also not not surprised that he wasn't a die-hard nudist. Doctrinaire anything can create it's own barriers.
