Nude bicycling: have you ever experienced numbness while riding?

I workout naked on a stationary bicycle while riding a weird feeling happens to my body. After I bicycling for more than 20 or 25 minutes I begin to have my genital area and butt going completely numb. I have never remembered to have this problem before, never happens when riding my bike outdoors on the local roads and bike trails. .Its a really weird feeling despite I can continue bicycling for 10 or 15 minutes more, but if I touch my penis or testicles the feeling is like Im touching nothing. This numbness will last a few minutes until the blood starts to flow back again. Does anybody have this issue?

Try adjusting the seat so it slants downward at the front.

My stationary is a recumbent and I have no issues with being on that for up to two hours. My outdoor bike is a pedals forward model and I have ridden that nude several times with no discomfort. Can't always ride nude, but can cover twenty miles or more without stopping. The seat and its adjustment can make a very big difference.

1nakedbird - a stationary bike allows you to remain in a single position for extended periods. Riding a regular moving bicycle requires you to shift your position and intermittently put more weight on the pedals, so you are putting a lot less stress on the seat. If you are experiencing discomfort, you need to adjust your riding style. There are also special padded seats and riding shorts available if you do not want to alter your riding posture.

Is the saddle on the stationary bike similar to the one on your outdoor bike? I used to get similar issues on my road bike even with good quality padded shorts. Changed my saddle to a specialised Romin and the issue disappeared. Never been outdoor biking nude, tend to do multi hour rides so good seat and good shorts are essential.

I used a 12-speed bike for two years to & from work, about 4 miles each way. The same thing happened to me and a local bike shop provided a solution. I changed from the skinny thin seat to a wide seat and I added a padded sheepskin cover and never had another problem.

I am very happy that I have a recumbent bike with a suspended seat. I have ridden for 4 hours with no problem wearing a non padded bicycle short. I used to also have an indoor trainer and one time went for an hour straight nude. I would usually get bored after 20 minutes though. I do long to ride in the daylight nude. That is on my bucket list.

That is a quite common issue cyclists can experience. There are a number of different ways to try and address it, many of which others previously mentioned.
The 2 easiest and cheapest potential solutions are the readjust your seat position to remove some of the pressure to the area. The other is to make a conscious effort to move around on the seat adjusting your position slightly as you ride.

There are many, many companies that make ergonomic seats that are specifically designed for male and female anatomy to alleviate these kinds of issues. They come in all price ranges from about $30-$300. Most quality bike shops can fit you for a seat so you know what size to purchase.

The last part of it is that you mentioned that you never used to have this issue. Well, bike seats wear out. The padding degrades over time and use so its possible you may have gone past the seats useful life. If nothing else changed from before like your weight, injuries, surgeries, riding position etc. then maybe just replacing the seat with a new version of the same is an option.

What works for one may or may not work for another so you'll need to choose how you want to start trying to remedy the issue.

Good luck and happy cycling!

I've only ever worn padded cycle shorts when mountain biking and have not suffered with any numbness. Only time I've had the "numb penis" issue was using a stationary bike in a gym and I was wearing loose shorts with no support or padding.
