ARE there lesbian and transgender nudists?!?!?

This group is called "LGBT Nudists, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexua".
I myself moderate a MeWe group called "LGBT+ NUDISTS / NATURISTS" which I created originally on Facebook when a lesbian wanted to join the Gay Naturists International (GNI) Facebook group. The group has 111 members and only two are women and are not active.
I'm on Twitter, MeWe, Reddit, Instagram, and a couple of other social media sites and am connected to ONE MTF user (who also happens to be a podcaster and POC). But I haven't connected with any other users who identify as a lesbian or transgender nudist.
Heck, Wikipedia even has a "Gay Naturism" page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_naturism). It starts with "Gay naturism or LGBT naturism (where naturism is generally equated with nudism) concerns a lifestyle of gay people in which nudity, especially in a communal context, is viewed as natural, positive and healthy." But then goes on to chronical the history out of The Naturists Society (TNS) of what ultimately became GNI and also mentions other all male nudist organizations. Again, no lesbian or transgender naturists.

Are lesbian and transgender nudists just unicorns?!?!?!? Are there lesbian naturist groups like GNI or local clubs? Are there transgender nudist members of any mainstream or "gay" centric nudist groups?

You bring up a valid point. I moderate this group and we have less than 4% lesbian and 1% as transgender. Have no idea why we do not see more activity from those two populous.

RE:ARE there lesbian and transgender nudists?!?!?

I am a transgender nudist. I am out IRL and online. I have been a nudist for a long time, though it is difficult for me to go nude in social situations because of my body dysphoria. On a really good day, I'm ok enough to handle it...but not every day is a good day. Some folx handle it better than I do, some not as well. I would guess that the fear (that I also have) of being rejected in a nudist environment or refused entry at a resort or beach is a huge concern for many. The reason I don't speak up on this site more is because I don't always see topics that I have anything to say on. I don't start many topics because I have no idea how well received they might be.

BRAVO - you found your voice in this post...carry on and I hope to hear a lot more from you! Again, BRAVO!!

I understand the point you are making, but the problem of welcoming transgender people in nudist settings is complex, just as it is for nonwhite nudists. Tolerance is what is being offered to minority nudists (including trans nudists), but that is far from being welcoming. Being tolerated and observed from a distance is not very attractive to most people regardless of their demographic.

Male nudists are often anxious about their physique or endowment.in comparison to others. This anxiety may be compounded in trans men who often have visible mastectomy scars or may still have typically feminine breasts and small penises.

Trans women, in my experience have the additional challenge of being sexually objectified. Many men know them only through tranny porn and pursue them as a sexual experience rather than as full human beings with feelings and intrinsic worth.

If we want them to be welcome, it will take a specific outreach to reassure them that their presence is desired. Not just tolerated.

RE:ARE there lesbian and transgender nudists?!?!?

Just an FYI: Before Covid, The Rivers Edge campground in Georgia had a fairly large, well attended trans weekend. Post-pandemic, that party might be moving to another nearby campground called "In The Woods", so do your research. Friends who attend say it is a really fun weekend and very empowering for all the folx who attend.

Thanks to everyone who responded. (I apologize for going AWOL but life got in the way recently.) I especially appreciate those who've confirmed the existence of lesbian and transgender unicorn nudists, particularly those who identify.

So . . . . . . how can we make the mainstream and "gay" centric nudist organizations more representative and welcoming to the diversity of the LgbT nudist community?

Hey Riley! Nice to hear from you. One of the cool things about our nude beach is that despite the very over the top weekends the weekdays are still queer af at the far end and transfolks have always been a part of the mix. I have the distinct pleasure of being on call if and when support is needed just like my trans brothers and sisters were there for me when I was a baby queer who was very fresh off the turnip wagon in the big city. So, with that if you ever need backup for a post or gentle and firm support in pushing back against poor reception, I'm glad to. I'm also glad to be quiet if that's preferable. Can I send you a friend request? Jim.

Being of minority status, I can say that there is some truth to this statement. Additionally I'm not the most active naturist/nudist on the block, but from what experience I do have I can say that it depends on where you go. I have been in some naturist environments where I did sense I was being cautiously watched or feel fetishised (not always a bad thing,) and have been in other naturist environments where I sensed an invisible red carpet was rolled out for me, which to a degree was kinda patronizing, butt I will give the place credit for making the attempt to be welcoming to open their ranks to interested individuals, considering that the number of nudists/naturists is on the decline as are the established resorts and campgrounds. In keeping with the topic of this thread, I will also add that there was a naturist Gathering I attended a few years ago that listed a workshop for LGBT attendees, and also facilitated discussions/presentations by trans people. It goes without saying that there were a few people there that had no interest in the latter formentioned discussion, but there was also great interest by many attendees as well. Again, it depends on where you go and the attitude of folks there.

Of course we exist; however we arent welcome in most places labeled as men only or women only . Every now and then someone who is trans will be allowed into these groups but it is always that one person everyone finds the most attractive!
