Toplless in Colorado

How many of you know that it is legal for woman to go topless anywhere in Colorado that a man can? For that matter, in any of the six States that are covered by the 10th District Court. And that there was a woman in Loveland the received a citation for being topless in her front yard with her topless husband, and she ended up winning a $50,000 settlement from the city. Unfortunately, the social stigma is so strong that Colorado is not going to become France anytime soon.

Same is true in New York State.
However, local ordinances do trump that. For instance, Southampton bans the wearing of just bathing suits in town and men must wear shirts. So, if men are required to wear shirts, then women cannot go topless.

Same here. It seems like an equal rights issue, which may be why the City of Loveland was so quick to settle, given that they had no legal standing.
