Penis is the preferred word I tend to always use.

I will use the word penis , if I don't want to offend anyone. In more casual, sensual moments - I may use the word cock or penis / with very open minded friends

I like to use Penis, it is after all what it is and I just love the sound of the word. I have and will use the word cock or dick in a more sexual situation but never "junk" why would anyone call that part of their body "junk"?

I am interested to notice that no one has mentioned 'phallus'. Is that too academic? Is it useful to have separate words for erect (phallus) and flaccid (penis)? I sometimes refer to the membrum virile (Latin for male organ), but that is semi-serious.
Incidentally, how do people pronounce 'flaccid'? flasid or flaksid?
