Big Lagoon to Johnson Beach

Big Lagoon State Park has excellent facilities. You can launch from there and run alongside the lagoon side of Johnson Beach. When the trail of cars end, you have entered the area reserved for boaters. You will see Langley Point and then Redfish Point, and anywhere past there you can beach, try to avoid the seagrass. A short hike through the dunes puts you on the Gulf side. Sometimes the steep beach can have undertows, and if nekkid, beware the rangers on ATV's, because often they will issue tickets. By law, overnight camping by boaters is permitted. The lagoon side is usually calmer and has a gentle slope.
