Mc Fadden Beach

i was there a few weeks ago.

the water was bathtub warm but a little cloudier than normal due to the continued run-off from harvey.
there is a good deal of detritus on the beach and i would say it is not passable in a road car (even one with AWD) or compact suv at the moment due to the after effects of the hurricane - you need 4WD and a truck/jeep/proper suv.

that being said there are great stretches where the sand is deliciously smooth and you can enjoy the sun - a recommendation tho is to bring a set of binoculars to be able to watch out for game wardens.
