Supposedly bathing in tannic acid creates an artificial tan. Only place i ever heard of it was in a story (true to life account) of a young white boy kidnapped by indians in pioneer times. He was around 12. They gave him tannic acid baths occasionally to make his skin color match theirs. Oak leaves or bark for the acid. And trained him in all their indian ways. It took a few years but eventually he developed the skill and strength to escape and found his way back to his family. Nobody knew him because he looked like an indian, but he was able to prove who he was easily. A small birthmark and his knowlege of family ties convinced them. The neighbor boy kidnapped with him kept fighting his nappers and they ended up killing him, but he decided fighting wasnt best, he went along peacably, spent those years looking for and training himself for an oppurtunity to escape.
But im not interested in a fake tan. Real or nothing for me. And if its uneven its no big deal.
