Master the basics yoga challenge day 4

Master the basic day 4 is wide legged seated forward fold. Like the seated forward fold this is a hamstring stretch but it also stretches the hips and is one of the poses yogis say prepares the body for lotus pose. Start in a seated position then bring your feet as wide apart as possible. Sit upright and turn your thigh inward and toes up to the ceiling. Then walk your hands out in front as far as you can without having much tension in you low back. Stay and breathe keep the hips rotating forward. If the stretch is too great for your hamstrings bend your needs. To come out of the deep hamstring stretch walk your hands back towards your body. Put them under your knees and gently lift and bend your knees then bring your legs together at the center of your mat. Namaste. Image in library.
