RE:Is watching hardcore/softcore porn while masturbating a sin?

Sorry, but you guys are getting way too serious. Life is too short. As for God, think the world could spend a lot more time getting Christ back into Christianity.

RE:Is watching hardcore/softcore porn while masturbating a sin?

For those who feel that doing anything sinful is a one-way ticket to eternal damnation, I'd say this/these subject(s) need(s) to be seriously considered. I am not one of the "You're going straight to Hell if you don't stop stroking to that," people, but I do enjoy a lively exchange of thoughts. So into the pool of discussing jacking & jilling to porn I do again dip my bared toe.

My partner in life considers herself a Christian and follows the Bible and knows every hymn in the hymnal. I am eternally grateful she is not so closed-minded that she won't engage in some activities other Christians might consider sinful, activities such as nudism. We never would have met if she didn't feel the need to explore life more fully once her divorce was all done, which led to her eventually taking her clothes off in a social setting. God-supporting True Nudists know that clothing optional is no sin, and in fact assists in getting closer to the being some call Yahweh and others call Allah. In their attempts to define sin it can quickly get complicated for others, just as does the curious act of picking and choosing what parts of the Bible work for them or means this or that. The debate on certain translations and words rages on and on and will forever. I got no dog in that race here.

Language is a curious thing and I admit to a slightly-perverted fascination when our two pastors get into explaining specific meanings of words created by humans to describe what their higher power meant when (S)He put them in their brain and then eventually onto paper. I do sit in our sweet little nude church most weeks hearing about this still- (to me) vibrant discourse from a hundred plus generations ago and find some knowledge and helpful hints about living life. I consider my spiritual side to be quite personal and I deeply respect everyone's inalienable right to make their own religious choices. Hey, I'm proudly from Charlottesville, Virginia, where Thomas Jefferson is treated like a god by some and a slave-owning contradiction by others. But it wasn't only Jefferson penning that incredible document which made him a traitor to the British throne while simultaneously beginning this experiment we call American democracy. I will defend anyone's right to worship the way they want to, even if it takes the second amendment to do so. No guns allowed on resort property, neither concealed nor open carry. It would be a challenge to conceal here. Now that's no holster!! Okay, a little ha-ha was needed to lighten up this heavy paragraph.

The interpretation of ancient writings - written in words which have been translated more than once, and by fallible humans who typically have an agenda - is a monumental challenge to even people who've devoted their lives to the job - much less for us religious plebeians. But certain parts of the Bible are to me crystal clear, like the ten commandments. Coveting thy neighbor's wife sounds a lot like staring at someone and sexualizing them, which in turn sounds a whole lot like pornography. One could interpret that act as breaking a commandment, for those who call it that, and worthy of a permanent visit to Satan or at least a long stopover in purgatory. But we all need to make our own choices as to how important this is to us personally or if it matters at all. Who else should have that right? In my view, no one.

The debate will go on until the rapture. And when it comes to the idea of that crux, I personally feel that this is the best moment in eternity, right now. So look busy storm troopers - here comes Vader ~

RE:Is watching hardcore/softcore porn while masturbating a sin?

I have not found an place in the bible tjat says masterbation or porn is a sin. It says you are not to add to or subtract from Gods law. Religion has added its own interpretations of what what Gods laweans, tjus adding to what his law states. Jesus gave us two simple commandments. Love God with your whole heart, mind, body and soul. Second being love the neighbor as thyself. In the ten commandments it does not say anything about masterbation, porn or alot of other things that religions have marked as sins in order to control thier flock. So as long as you do not covert another, but simply enjoy the show I do not see any reason it should be a sin.
