Do you think that having a piercing is just for your self or for showing off??
I would say for both. I love the look and feel of my genital piercings-- now five, up to 14 at one time -- and the comments and/or looks from other nudists at the beach or resort. I've had my piercings for more than 20 years, and back when I first wore all my jewelry to a resort I was told to remove them. But recently I went to Lake Como in Florida and there were no problems.
