Maybe because the fakes actually offer what they are looking for that is sexual interaction. Tho it is unlikely that the offer is much more than a scam.
I have only been on this site a short while and the catfishes do abound! Some warning signs:
1. If her picture is "too good to be true" it probably IS.
2. If she wants to get you on Hangouts or WhatsApp right away and won't actually just email you directly or call or text you directly, she's probably a catfish.
3. If her phone number (area code) is nowhere near her professed location, she's probably a catfish. Now in an age of cell phones, people DO move about the nation, but *every single time* I came across a catfish from this site, her professed location was a far cry from her area code and phone number.
4. If she hits you up for money or other assistance with a sob story, obviously.
(Straight ladies and non-heterosexuals, the converse and corollary rules also apply to you too?)
