Beaches in Hong Kong
As we're in the midst of the virus outbreak all of the gazetted beaches (Gov't run) here in HK have been closed for some time, this means the likes of Cheung Sha beach or Middle Bay beaches are out of bounds for the time being and Cheung Sha was the best beach to go to. Anyone local know where to head to in HK to get a bit of naked sun ? Missing my naked beach time. .. Thanks
Thanks, Yes I've heard a lot about Sanya. Trouble is that's in China and tourists are not allowed in at present. I do want to go to Sanya one day though. I'll find somewhere in HK, just need to look around for a quiet place.
Sure you should visit Santa, I went in July and it was so much fun. I made this video in Sanya if you e meant yo check it out.
I live on Lantau and Cheung Sha is or was my fave beach, even before I moved here.
Unfortunately because of Covid last year and with many people working from home and families with kids having their school lessons online, the beaches despite being technically closed, were visited by Lantau residents - mostly from the new housing estates in Tung Chung, for lack of anywhere to go during their new-found spare time, not to mention curiosity to explore the island since they now live here.
So whether or not Cheung Sha returns to any level of privacy in the near future, is anyone's guess.
I had only been there once or twice last summer and it wasn't really pleasant - no chance to be nude and overcrowded.
It was only towards later last year with schools reopening and the weather still warm enough to visit the beach, that I finally had a chance to get naked and enjoy.
I haven't been there at all so far this year.
Another Lantau beach that is quite nice is Lo Kei Wan - located within the South Lantau Country Park, near Shui Hau Village.
It's a bit of a 20 minute trek up the hill and then down - not really strenuous but a bit of an exercise to get to.
There's a camping site nearby that's not often used, so there can be some privacy depending on the season.
However with the current situation, I'm not sure what it's like there.
Yeah, I tried Lo Kei Wan a few weeks ago when the beaches were still 'closed' and the campsite was pretty busy so gave it a miss. Went to Cheung Sha a couple of Fridays ago and it was OK, not too busy and easy for some nude time. I don't go weekends now as it is just too busy. Thankfully with kids being at school again and so many people back at work it's got back to some degree of normality during the week. Still a few people in their tents when I was there so walking around nude or splashing in the water nude is a little difficult as it was not as private as it once was but as it had been so long since I was there it was just so great to be nude outdoors again.
