Potential nude B&B / resort
Is there anyone in this group that is looking to buy and run a B&B in central/rural Alberta?
My parents farmhouse/homestead has been run as a B&B for over 20 years, but they have reached the point where they can no longer keep it up. It would be a great place for becoming a nude B&B / small resort. Id be glad to share details with anyone interested.
Where is it located and how close to other housed and communities is it? I have been looking into starting a Naturist club/ camp in the Southern Alberta area as the only one I have been able to find seems to be on its last leg and not interested in new members or visitors. There has been an increased interest in Naturism over the past few years with the Calgary Nude Recreation events starting up and people being locked down in their homes over the past year. One of the more difficult obstetrical has been location; a place that is near enough to city centers yet far enough from prying eyes to be private. You would think with all this open prairie it would be easy but naturists like water and water is not so easy to access.
I found out today that there is a good chance this place will be for sale in the next couple months, so I will share more details...
It is a large farm house (about 4200 sq ft footprint) on about 5 acres of land. The original part of the house includes 6 guest bedrooms (1 with private 3 /4 bathroom and 2 with a shared full bathroom - duplicated upstairs and downstairs), an oversized 2-car garage, a living room with a fire place, kitchen and dining room upstairs and a kitchenette and laundry downstairs. The extension part of the house has a large master bedroom (includes full bathroom, laundry, walk-in closet, office and sitting area) upstairs and downstairs includes a sitting room with fireplace & front entrance, a large common room with in-floor heating currently used for multiple activities (it was built with an 8' x 32' swimming pool that is covered and has never been used), a second kitchen, back entrance, 3 /4 bathroom, pantry (which is a room built to be a sauna but never used as one). Off of this common room is a sheltered outdoor hot tub (the tub itself needs to be replaced) and a fire pit area. The whole house uses a reverse-osmosis water system (no nasty well water).
There is a 48-panel solar array to assist in providing electricity, a large quanset for storage, apple trees, a garden and a few walking trails through the forest behind the house. There is also an old barn, but it should probably be demolished.
This homestead is close to Ferintosh AB, and its rural setting means it is far from traffic and the closest neighbour is 300m away, but the view is blocked by the forest.
PM me for price and if you have any questions.
