well, totally ideal, would be a grumman albatros. 2 awesome sounding growling engines, an awesome place to hang a hammock between either engine and the wing tip pylon. None of the slow ass speeds of boats and twice the fun.

Better have deep pockets. Twice the fun and a thousand times the cost. There's an Albatross parked at my local airport, hasn't moved in years.

nah, you are exaggerating. It's only 200 times the cost. And you've gotta carry a spare engine with you at all times and the mechanic to install it. But still, we're talking the "ultimate" so there you go.
Although, I did hear from a friend of mine that there is a rather large monohull (I don't like monohulls) out there with a BEAVER on it.
That would be a DHC-2 on floats, not what most of you were thinking.

I had a Catalina 22 wing keel and loved it. A lot of boat for the price and size. Sail her flat as possible (very little heel) and she will out perform her PHRF rating.

If you get the Grumman Albatross, just be careful flying into Jamaica. Ask Jimmy B and he can tell you why.

Can it be rigged with a mast, boom & rudder to be able to sail it without needing to burn fuel to move?
