I live in North Central Illinois. Since I'm new to this site I'm still figuring out how to do things and stumbled on this. That is a question that I have asked myself also. I did find a resort about an hour Northwest of me that I have attended several times. Blue Lake Resort. I'm curious about sites in Iowa as I live an hour from the Quad Cities. So anyone that can share sites or is interested in getting together I would be very much interested.
Southern Illinois, near St. Louis, we also go to Forty Acre Club south of St. Louis. I am more interested in meeting people outside the club than she is. However, she is willing to join in. It all depends on the situation and timing.

I think that would be the case more often than not.
My wife has turned down meeting strangers in a "pre-nudist" setting. For one, she doesn't like the idea of meeting with strangers as a "prelude" to eventually being naked with them. The other thing is that if the wife/GF is "reluctant", she doesn't want to feel "personally tasked" with convincing her to be naked. Too much pressure and responsibility.
She's fine though with hanging out IRW with nudists we've met at the resort. No pressure or responsibility; and we actually do that regularly. Some of our female nudist friends have expressed the same opinion.
The OP seems to have moved on; but my unsolicited opinion is that at the end of the day, if you want to meet nudists: skip the preliminaries and just "go where the nudists are."
