I agree with your points reflecting how European societies operated and this was certainly the case in the UK up to and including the Victorian era , however what you've omitted is that Europeans who dictated everything made the decision that beauty was , pale and often blond and blue eyes , people who didn't fit that narrative were regarded as unattractive in their eyes and it left an impact for centuries, I still hear about black and brown people buying products to bleach their skin which is horrendous, some of these products cause irreparable damage ,one of my friends considered doing this and when I warned of the dangers he reminded me about white people going in the sun to get brown and the hypocrisy, which is correct, I love going out in warm weather and getting naked in the sun but now I use high factor sun screen and wear a hat ,I'm much more comfortable being pale and hope that more black and brown people will say no to skin lighting products they're so dangerous
Yes it provides both physical and mental health benefits, however like everything should be something we're sensible with ,I wear suncream ( factor 50 ) but still enjoy feeling of the sun on my skin, although it's getting better there's still large numbers of people contracting skin cancer due to over exposure and of course too much sun can cause premature ageing of the skin too
