RE:Return of "What does everyone or did teach?"I taught English (the subject of my first degree )in a slective co-educational secondary school from 1967 to 1971. Thirty years later, I unexpectedly found myself needing a job and I taught A level Philosophy, Religious Studies and Critical Thinking in a 6th form college until retiring from full-time work in 2007.
For 15 years (and counting), I have been Principal Examiner for the Cambridge International AS exam in Thinking Skills. I recently led an online training event in that subject, mainly for teachers in the US. One of the comments in participant feedback was that it was like meeting the wizard behind the curtain.
When we had an A level in Critical Thinking in the UK, I was Principal Examiner for the paper on Ethical Reasoning. I proposed a question on nude beaches, but it was rejected on the grounds that male candidates would not take it seriously.
