I realized at age 6 that i enjoyed sleeping nude. Throughout my younger years i would look for opportunities to be nude in the woods or swimming holes. After marriage i became a home nudist and tgree years ago finally did my first nude beach and 2 years ago my first resort.
Technically ... 14; sleeping, doing chores, watching TV, laying out in the backyard ... all the time alone at home, of course! But actually my first real nudist experience wasn't until I was 19/20 and in the Navy, stationed in San Francisco. I went on a driving day trip south to Santa Cruz and happened upon Bonny Doon Beach north of Santa Cruz. I saw all the cars parked, didn't see anything around to attract all these people who drove these cars and got out thinking I'd find some festival. I was partly right, the festival was on the beach in a cove where about 300 nudists were enjoying the day in the sun. I was with a shipmate and told him ... "the heck with Santa Cruz, we've been there. I'm going down there!" I grabbed a sleeping bag out of the back of my car and down I went. He followed reluctantly and we spent the day with some college kids from UC Santa Cruz. Those were some fun times. Spent most week days and weekends there when I didn't go home. Took my wife up there a few times. Still her most favorite nude beach on the West Coast.
Besides changing to sleep nude and some miscellaneous times, I was in my late 40s when I purposely went nude around the house when I was alone doing chores and just lounging around. Not much later I vacuumed nude in front of my wife, which is when I "outed" myself to her. A couple of years ago I went to Whispering Pines to a Nude 5K. I have told many of my friends although it is not common knowledge. My next "step" is to bring someone to one of the social activities or just to participate with them in our homes.
Never tried it till after the kids had flown the nest. My biggest regret is that I didn't have the courage/opportunity to try it when I was younger. So my advice is to go for it and the sooner the better. With the internet the whole topic is talked about much more now
It's a grey line --- I started sleeping nude around 1970 (12ish), did a little nude hiking in my early teens, waiting until after the morning shower to put on clothes when I moved out in college (late 70's), leaving them off when I wasn't going anywhere shortly after college (83) when I had a roommate who was also a casual nudist, discovered nude beaches and groups around 1990, and early in the new century started taking clothes off whenever I am home without clothed visitors. For the last few years, 2010ish on, I've been actively seeking places that don't require clothes to go to when I travel.
