Why is clothing need to be optional? part- 1

Return to Discussions

Our ancients have lived with minimal clothes (they used to dress depending on
the situation, as required) and work under the sun most of the time, hence many
of them lived long, rarely contracting diseases...When they are old, they got
some minor health complaints and passed away peacefully without contracting any
major diseases/ailments; they didn't die in hospitals or after suffering from a
disease for a long time...

We have moved far away from the way our ancestors lived, the natural way of
life connected with the Nature...Where they lived semi nude most of the time, with
just a towel wrapped around the waist / loin cloth...This is the case with those
who lived in the Indian sub continent, and with those in places like Greece,
Europe, Latin America, Mexico etc.

Beyond this, they may have used a towel to cover the upper part of the body
when they ventured out while dealing with outside world / for work. Likewise,
the women used to cover their body only with a cloth and no separate tops or
such inner garments. This was the case until around 300 years before..

It is a torture particularly, the way females dress nowadays (particularly in
the indian/ asian sub continent), wearing all kinds of garments; They pay
attention to only their external looks, want to look attractive with heavy
clothing on, even during hot weather conditions.

Clothes (most of the times, unless we are in a workplace or involved in
business activities) are uneasy, unpleasant and cause sweat to appear all over
the body. As this sweat is not allowed to evaporate freely (we being clothed
fully), it creates bad energy and we become weak; we easily contract major
ailments / health complications...

When we take bath @home or in a river / while under waterfalls, the moment we
shed the clothes and the fresh air / water / sun light touches the body, we
enjoy that refreshing energy or freedom and there is joy for a brief period. But
we don't pay attention to these details - when we are immersed in happiness and
what causes that...

Small babies / children also enjoy these moments of life, when they are nude,
even if its very short; Only they don't know that shedding of clothes is the
reason behind this freedom and we brainwash them that being nude is a sin. We
have to teach kids that being naked is in fact spiritual, nothing to be
shameful, being compassionate to the body and is a platform to evolve further
spiritually!

We live in Iowa. One of the benefits of our world now is climate control. It snowed today but I was able to be naked inside while I worked from home. For me, when though I'm a nudist, I like the idea of clothing optional. Nudity is about being comfortable. If I'm comfortable nude then I'll shed clothing. If I'm comfortable clothed, then I'll wear what I need to feel comfortable.
