RE:Neighbours reactions to your nudist lifestyle

My son's friend invited him over for the day, and his father drove over to pick my son up. He was driving a maroon SUV. My wife and older son were out in her maroon Jeep Cherokee. Approximately 5 minutes after my son left, my wife and other son drove up (so I thought). I had stripped as soon as my son had left with his friend.

So, I walked up to the vehicle without any hesitation, then the window rolls down, and I see it is my son's friend's father back with the two boys. He was laughing, and as soon as I realized what happened, I explained to him that I thought that was my wife and other son driving up. Smiling, he told me he figured that's what happened, since he knew what my wife's car looked like. He then said don't worry about it, we're pretty casual at home, and N_____ has seen him naked plenty of times, and he wasn't bothered if N______ sees me naked when he visits.

From that point on, I never bothered with clothes when N________ and his father came by.

Our closest neighbor (we live at the dead end of the street, and the nearest lot is around 1/8 mile away) came over to see our new wolf-hybrid. He walked over, and had to walk right past the sign that says we are clothing optional. I was at the back of the property, and heard the dogs bark and came to see what the fuss was about. My neighbor was standing at the gate to the dog pen, and I greeted him and we talked about the new wolf-hybrid. He didn't say a word about my nudity then, but another occaision he said that he spent most of his time naked at home during the power outage following one of our hurricanes, since his airconditioner wouldn't work without power. It was the only way he could be cool enough.

RE:Neighbours reactions to your nudist lifestyle

We've been in our new home for about a year. I've only met the neighbors casually as they were walking down the road, while I was clothed.
I recently met two different Neighbors and had social conversation. Both times I didn't hesitate to tell them that we were nudists. There was no negative reaction whatsoever, one couple just smiled but didn't pursue any further conversation . While helping him cut up a tree, I told the other I wasn't a fan of clothing , he mentioned he doesn't wear much more than shorts either . I told him I don't think you understand, I'm not a fan of clothing! Oh, you mean like nudist? He told me that they were naked around the house often and his little girls like to run around naked. I was glad to know that neither one of them really cared one way or another. At least now I know I don't have to worry too much about them and they know what to expect. I just told them if they come up to the house they may want to give a little notice.

RE:Neighbours reactions to your nudist lifestyle

Absolutely everyone in my village knows I'm a nudist. It pops up in conversation most days. And they know that they will most likely catch me naked if they come into my garden on a sunny (or even a warmish) day. Yesterday I was chatting to my nearest neighbours in their garden. I noticed they have a fig tree and said I look for them when I'm nude. She said "come and help yourself to a fig leaf any time".

RE:Neighbours reactions to your nudist lifestyle

No real negative reactions to seeing us live our nudist lifestyle. We've been lucky to have tolerant or accepting neighbors. Most times when we've been seen, it's those seeing us that become embarrassed and not us. Most, if not all, should feel they've invaded your privacy if they look into your property and you've done a good deal of shielding your nakedness from them.

We've had several neighbors see us on more than one occasion. They usually apologize and are uneasy about talking to us afterwards but eventually let it go. One neighbor would just stand on something to get his head completely over the fence to talk to me while I was nude. I tried hiding it once but my wife, who'd gone inside to slip something on, returned and noticed that I'd been standing across from a window and our neighbor could see my backside clear as day in the reflection in the window. After that, I just stood there and talk to him when he'd call over to me and want to ask something, Our nudist lifestyle never came up.

Had a landlord that caught us sunbathing naked once and then made a habit of ALWAYS lurking around the house afterwards. Our little rental house was behind his home. He finally stopped when my wife told him if he didn't stop lurking around, she was going to tell his wife what happened and that he continues to come back into our more private area. He stopped after that! When he was headed back there for any reason afterwards, he'd always call out our names and wait for a response. I think he was more embarrassed by being caught and confronted by Di!

RE:Neighbours reactions to your nudist lifestyle

many years ago my then nearest neighbor was 1/5 mile up the road. It was a retirement age couple. He called me and asked if I could get their mail in while they went away for a week. I told them I would. When they got back he came down to get the stack. I was naked and figured " what the hell why not see what he thinks about a nudist neighbor?' He did a double take as I greeted him at the door but did not comment. A few days later he stopped by about something else and I again greeted him nude at the door. No negative reaction. Later that year I was up at Turtle Lake Nudist Resort which is about an hour away and who do you think I saw there but my neighbors , and all their wrinkles. I said howdy as we crossed paths. They are not overly friendly and we go years without even interacting. But at least i know that they too go nude.

Wow! Do you think him seeing you nude got them started with nudism? Obviously, you had net seen them at Turtle Lake prior to that. This sort of thing happened with me many years ago with a coworker and his wife.

RE:Neighbours reactions to your nudist lifestyle

Lived in San Francisco, third floor apartment, for twenty years. One day I met someone down on the street, who - it turned out - lived in the building next to us, and - it turned out - had a view into our sunny, open, dining room from the small window over their sink. By way of explaining why they had never greeted me on the street before: "I didn't recognize you with your clothes on!" No issue, I was glad to know.
