A Nudist's Diary

This is a group where members enjoy to write and read experiences in nudity.

In India Kumbh Mela is one of the most important socio-cultural religious festival where thousands of naga sadhus attend. This was the first time I attended this mela and saw many such naga sadhus. There are some other TN members also who visited the mela.
Let's all share our experiences here.

Naga sadhus do not stay naked always...when they are in their monestry..in locality, they wear cloths. Its only some time...as a part of their religious practice they stay naked. Even in Kumbh all naga sadhus are not nude. But all becoem nude when they go for the holy dip in the river, in group.

I reached the kumbh mela on 13th Feb, there were other people with me...my mother, her brother and his wife. So you all can guess easily that it was not an easy trip where i can be of myself at my will. In india, it is considered a pious act if you help your parents or elderly people to visit a holi place. And for that matter, this was Maha Kumbha, that occurs at this place in every 12 years. So my mother said she will not be alive during next time. So I was quite happy with the group and was enjoying it in that way...which was far from a nudist's way of living.

On day 1, we just wandered around the tent where we were staying. The Kumbh mela is a congregation of millions and millions of people who come to take holy dip in the confluence of three rivers - the Ganga, the Saraswati and the yamuna.
The whole atmosphere is surcharged with devotion and love for spirituality.
There were many tents where people were staying. The tents were erected by various religious leaders whom we call Guru.
There were stack of hay on sand bed...and people spread their own bedding on that. There were common toilets and latrines - separate for male and female.

On second day morning, we all went for a bath at the confluence. There were some other guys in our group who were staying beside us in the tent. When we reached the site it was full with millions of people of all age. we kept all our belongings at one place - but there had to be someone to guard those. So I offered to stay back when all would go for bathing at the exact confluence. And I would go as they all return.
they all agreed and soon I saw them getting merged with crowd...became like dots in a huge canvas where one can see only heads of millions of people.
I was enjoying the vibration of the place...looking at people taking bath...doing rituals.....then suddenly a thought came into mind...a thought of the naturist in me.
Why don't I take this opportunity to be nude in crowd and take a bath? Before my gang comes back.
I slowly took of all cloths....and wrapped a towel around waist. and I went inside water which was just knee deep out there.
I sat there and took of the towel....there were few people who passed by and looked at me...but were not surprised or shocked, I guess.

there were people around me...but they were too engrossed with themselves. And bathing nude is not a shocking scene there...The place or hermits of naga sadhus were near by. Here and there one can have glimpses of naga sadhus.
When my people came back then I went to have the bath at the confluence.
