Just about two years ago...but it seems like yesterday...I had to send two of mine across the Rainbow Bridge. Then, about six months ago we lost another one to heart problems.
Yes, shelters are dangerous places for pet lovers. Ours here in Winslow has a Facebook page, and my wife was browsing it shortly after we lost our little girl. She saw one picture, fell in love with one. We fostered her for two weeks to make sure our others would accept her...and they did. Oh, I so wanted to take at least a dozen home!
