Artistic Photos

This is a place to post your "artistic" photos for others to view and enjoy. However you choose to define "artistic" is up to each individual. The genesis of this idea for me was having taken some shadow/silhouette photos, wanting to share them, but not really knowing where to post them. They are "soft" nude photos that are more provocative than explicit. Hoping...

Shibari Practice

Return to Discussions

This was the first time I model for suspension in rope. Only been ground work prior. Its quite a bit harder than it looks in the images as a lot of your body weight is on just a few wraps of 5mm rope. Naturally it causes some discomfort with blood flow circulation and bruising the skin afterwards. But it wasn't too bad. This time around it was just 'easy' poses to learn safety and get a feel for it. I expect to be doing progressively more advanced shibari about once a month with this rigger.

I was naked for most of the shoot but the rigger tied a fundoshi on me because he is not a naturist and was concerned about posting nudes online. I had to talk to him to assure him it was ok and that he did not need to hide my face. That's why a couple images have my hair covering face.

I did get 2 full nudes but I felt it might not be good for TN. He wrapped the fundoshi around my genitals and had one end of the fundoshi in my mouth. lol. Thats whats happening in the 4th image but you cant see it wrapped. I don't take issue with it but try to keep things as agreeable as possible here.

Overall it was a fun experience. You do need to have decent pain tolerance to do this type model. It is not comfortable and it did leave marks lasting a couple days. For me that is not a big problem, but what I did find unexpectedly hard was that when suspended on my side I could barely breath. I honestly thought I might have to ask to be let down before we were done but made it through to the end. The reason is that the rope is tied tight around the chest so you cant expand to let more air in, then by being suspended on your side your back is curved in such a way that further restricts breathing.

These images were taken by the rigger (Person doing the rope tie) with his phone. I thought of bringing my proper camera but then I would have to teach how to use it. Maby in future I will get the chance to setup for more professional photos.

If these images are low res I suggest looking in the media section of this group to see the images because thats where I uploaded them.

WOW! Incredible pictures. It shows the human form in such an artistic way. It does look like it would be uncomfortable.

Sorry, but I cant do anything with those pictures. Just repulsive. And I cant identify any artistic aspect either.

Great story. I would love to shoot something like that. I dont see why TN would object to the nude version. I am glad you recovered easily.

I don't expect any type of art to appeal to everyone. There are people who dedicate themselves to mastering rope work, it is a very intricate job that requires a lot of knowledge of the medium and human anatomy. Here in Vancouver we have one of the best rope masters in the world and I am fortunate enough to have his 'project' student to work with me. To give some perspective this rigger spends 17 hours a week for the past two years learning rope, and he still considers himself a beginner. What you see here is just basic stuff. I spent a lot of time through these ties being mentored in matters of rope safety.

It is quite common at higher levels to do more complex poses with multiple colours of intricately tied rope, and often floating mount points like steel or wood rings where the ropes connect. Hopefully as time goes on I will eventually have some of that type of tying done.

Shibari is a great experience! Thanks for sharing yours! Once I used to model for a rigger who cooperated with a photographer. That was quite new to me and quite interesting to see how much knowledge you need for rigging and - to get good pictures - how cooperating the rigger and photographer have to be. The result was a bunch of great Shibari photos - nude and non-nude;)

Yes thank you for modeling. I see mostly women doing the modeling, so its nice seeing a man doing it. The pictures came out amazing, wow if you had a studio and a photographer. Wow what would the pictures have been like.
But thank you again for the demonstration of something different on TN.
