Artistic Photos

This is a place to post your "artistic" photos for others to view and enjoy. However you choose to define "artistic" is up to each individual. The genesis of this idea for me was having taken some shadow/silhouette photos, wanting to share them, but not really knowing where to post them. They are "soft" nude photos that are more provocative than explicit. Hoping...

I prefer to hide sex organs on my artistic photos, whereas are full frontal more like porn when the legs are wide open in provocative shots.
What do you think???

When terms like "hide" "wide open" and "provocative" are used, I feel the works are more voyeuristic than artistic.

The two photos you posted are truly artistic. They are not focussed on genitals or suggestive sexual activities but show the beauty of a woman's body and her soft curves. The first photo also projects a mood that radiates from the model's pose. The lighting also suggests that the photographer knows how to shoot using more than just a cell phone. Nice work.

Harry, I agree with the comments above, I recall your photos and I thought they were really really good. I make comments on many photo's here, I like photography and have dabbled over the years so I like a good set up, good lighting, a thoughtful photo, some can be provocative, a good photo like a painting, should make you think There are often close ups (like the 6 here right now) which are rubbish in my opinion and just dick pic's, and despite constructive comments I make this guy keeps posting and l have no idea how the moderators let this junk through, especially when quality ones are removed. Most close up's here are poor quality and by someone with a phone who thinks they are a photographer. Having said that, there was a photo of an erect penis a while ago, great lighting, there was a context, B&W, and it was a statement, normally I would not think a stiff cock would not be a good photo, but it was. There was also a close up of a vulva, lips spread like a flower, it was quite beautiful and I commented as such, in a good way. Many open leg shots of women are not good and I find to be sleazy or poor quality or just look at my crotch boys & girls, what do you think and the photo attracts the sort of comments you would expect. The poor quality photo's do not even rate as porn, most porn is photographed usually by people with skills but they are paid to focus just on a bit of the anatomy or whatever action is required to get attention. So, I think we should encourage good quality photo's here and as the group name says, artistic .... Let's make appropriate comments on good photo's whether discrete or artistically provocative and call out the rubbish ones for what they are. Let's also push the moderators to delete the rubbish and encourage quality. That's enough from me.

I enjoy reading your insightful response. I believe that if Michelangelo and other great artists dont hide body parts, there is no reason we should either. But I think its clear when rubbish seeps through. As a yoga teacher seeing thousands of bodies in poses, I can see clearly a yogis level of practice. A newbie is so easy to spot. Photographers and artists do similarly. All the elements of good composition shine through regardless of focusing on what is being shown.

Thanks, the problem is every phone is a camera and every owner suddenly thinks they are a photographer. I encourage people to try those settings & have fun, but everyone does not want to see the same man taking the same photo's of himself with the focus on his dick. They are not good photos, not art or porn, just not good, art requires some creativity, thought, context, lighting, location etc.

Have a look at the photo's by dorne1958 on here right now, they are artistic, and that is the same of the group. Paul58 next is great, that nature guy is ok and thankfully the others have gone,

"Wide open" with legs spread apart does not convey a sense of allure. It only conveys a " I am willing to f*** attitude. I prefer more body posture pics where individuals express their own sense of being. Just saying.

I once posed for an art class. The teacher told me to open my legs more.

The nude figure is artistic. I think legs open like obs and gyn photos or pictures of erections or butt holes are into porn land.

I have posed for life drawing classes sitting on a stool with legs open.

there ya go. Legs wide open, however, this is not porn or even close. When at a beach or resort, we walk around nude all day, genitals exposed and whatever... I think most of us know what the difference is.
