I put this group together to find out what beaches around the world are fun to go to in case people are traveling and wondering what a particular beach is like.

Return to DiscussionsAnyone know of nude beaches in the NW of England? have heard there is nude sunbathing in the dunes south of Blackpool but unofficialand I don't know what is the attitude of the local council and police. There are signs warning about inappropriate behaviour, whatever that means. Would appreciate if anyone could share their experience of this area
As someone who spends a lot of time in the NW, I don't know why but there seems to be a problem with nude beaches in that area. Perhaps that area is a lot more prudish. There used to be an accepted nudist area over a long period of time in the sand dunes near Southport but there are reports of frequent police raids there due to local complaints. Also, there are some beautiful sandy beaches on the Wirral peninsular that are as good as Spanish beaches in the right weather. Most of them unused, some with somewhat hidden areas, yet an application to make one an official naturist beach was rejected. Its a crazy world sometimes, its not illegal to be naked yet sometimes pursued as if it is illegal to satisfy narrow mindedness. If they don't want to see naked bodies why do they go looking and report it. That why I love the Spanish beaches, so many naturist beaches available there both official and unofficial with no problems. If anyone knows of any in the Wirral, Liverpool, South Lancashire area I would also be interested to know.
