Bicycling Nudists

Peopel that love to ride bicycles, nude,or otherwise. I would be nice to have a meet somewheres and ride for 10-100 miles on a given weekend. Such as a rails to trails conversion, or a segmetn of a highwa, such as teh Natchez Trace. OR meet up at a nudist resort, adn bring our bikes!

Any recumbent bike owners out there?

I love riding my recumbent bicycle. At 60 I would remove my shirt and feel like a kid again, with the wind blowing across my upper body. I really want to feel that on my whole body. I hope to join the NO naked bike ride next year. I ride a Vision dual 650 R64. Beautiful street bike but with 23 mm tires not good for anything but pavement. Looking to talk with other riders.

My wife has a Burly LWB recumbent. I sometimes use it and I am not a big fan of recumbents. I much prefer my conventional Trek but glad your happy with yours.

I don't have a recumbent bike, but I usually ride my standard bike shirtless in warm weather and enjoy the wind on my chest.

There is a bit of a trick to get used to a recumbent. Balance when starting, gearing down, and shifting a lot. I remember riding the bike your wife has. There was a bit of bounce with that ling wheelbase. Nice for comfort and easier to start and stop than a short wheelbase like mine. My wrists, shoulders and back could not handle an upright anymore. No problem with the recumbent as affecting those same areas. Do you ride much? Ever thought about riding nude? Dick

The Burly is bouncy and the turning radius is ridiculous. She got for the same reason as you, shoulder and wrist relief. There is an isolated bike trail close to me that I go early in the am and ride naked, haven't run into anyone yet. I am out almost every morning for at least 10 miles.

I used to ride in short lightweight gym shorts often and swim briefs occasionally, but I got saddle sores on my rear and chafing on my upper thighs. I would expect the situation would be the same or worse if riding nude. How do you avoid these?
I have since switched to padded bike shorts for most rides.
