So I found a couple of other dudes on here and one thing led to another and was invited to a nude hike. It was going to be my first time, so I was excited and nervous and all of those emotions mixed up in my head. I think everyone on here knows that feeling, that feeling that you just had to get naked and be.
So comes to the day and I meet up with the group of guys at the organizers house. I knew it was going to be a great day when he answered the door nude. I shake his hand and see 6 other guys in the house all nude, hanging around talking about the hike.
We get dressed, get in two cars and drive to the trail head. There were 8 of us total. We have to hike about two miles clothed , then there's a lesser known trail in an area of the park called jackass canyon. Just look for it on the Mt Diablo trail map. Anyway we start hiking and part of it is very steep for a stretch. It's not for the faint of heart unless you're a regular hiker. It was about 500 foot climb to the top of ridge near the turn off to jackass canyon maybe a little more and about 30-45 minutes to get there, but it was totally worth it.
The guys were so excited we all decided to strip before the organizer thought it was really safe to do so, but not real far (maybe 200 feet from the actual turn off where it was safe to do so. We all just started pulling clothes off and the organizer kinda stood there for a second and thought, WTF, why not. And in about a minute there were 8 naked guys hiking. In less than 5 minutes we were in a much safer place to be nude, but we didnt' see another person the whole time and the weather was perfect for hiking. About 79 degrees and puffy white clouds in the sky.
The organizer said that the scenery would be pretty spectacular but I was surprised to see such lush mountainside....especially during a drought. And the ridgeline trail at jackass canyon had the some of the most spectacular views I've seen during my hikes.
I would highly recommend the hike if you can. ****WORD OF CAUTION**** The rules about nudity in that area are hazy at best. YOU COULD GET IN TROUBLE DOING THIS HIKE NUDE.
But if you're willing to take the personal risk it was a spectacular hike nude or not, the fact that everyone was nude and chatty and this is from a total group who knew each other for a total of about 20 minutes before this hike. I mean some guys knew each other but no one knew everyone. It was the first time many of us had met each other. And it was one of the best feelings just hanging nude with other humans literally in touch with nature.. It's almost like what I imagine a "religious experience" is like.
We all hated to put our clothes back on. I think these guys were genuine nudists who are not all about getting naked and having sex. It was more than that.. I can't describe it any other way.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is..."It was a great fucking hike with a great bunch of guys and we all just happened to be naked."
