This would e an excellent time to go, as the campgrounds won't be crowded and you can choose any spot you want to set up.

Turtle lake is the best in Michigan lots of activities and no hookup camping is only $10 more on a day pass

Spruce Hollow up in Mesick is a small quaint little resort with campsites.
