Car Enthusiasts

A place for nudist gearheads to meet and talk about cars! If you're as passionate about cars as you are about nudism, this is the spot for you.

Any VW enthusiasts here? Either current models, or retro models? My last three cars have been GTI's (after having owed mostly Toyota's and Honda's in the past), and I love them. I hear a rumor that VW may produce a new retro-styled "Bus" (whatever they may decide to call it), which I think would be very cool.

RE: Volkswagen

I love the look of the Sportwagen. I wish they would make it again with the 4-turbo, like in the GTI (which they did for a while). If I were ever interested in a TDI, that's probably what I'd go for. Never driven a TDI before (other than a 1977 Rabbit non-turbo diesel I drove once on a long trip a LONG time ago -- and that car was a DOG -- OMG!). I know modern turbo diesels are nothing like those underpowered clattering smoke bombs from the 70's. I should go test drive one. Not sure I could be happy with a car that didn't have my GTI's zip though. I had a new Civic that I got rid of pretty quickly once I realized how underpowered it was. White-knuckled many busy freeway on-ramp merges in that car.

I had a mostly-restored '66 Bus for nearly 10 years. Sold it to a friend a couple of years ago, but I have visiting rights. It was a silly, rather impractical old thing, but for some reason it was a totally unreasonable amount of fun.
I've had a couple of '70s Rabbits, a yellow '81 Rabbit gas-engine pickup, a mid-90s Jetta and most recently an '04 Passat W8, which was a pretty nice car.
I'm currently attempting to restore one of the rattly, clattering smoke bombs of the '80s, an 81 Rabbit pickup diesel bought for nostalgia's sake. It's rust-free, but has LOTS to keep me busy. I'm hoping it will at least be good enough to go to the garden center in spring and maybe some car shows.

I had several VW's, a beetle, super beetle, thing and a GTI. Always dreamed of having a convertiblekarmann Ghia. I drove naked, for my first time, in a super beetle many years ago.

I've never owned a vw but have always liked them. In highschool all I wanted was a GTI. Now my vw of choice would be the gasp, e-golf.

This website is about tens years behind the times as far as functionality and speed. But, I do like the new Microbus concept. I saw it on a movie trailer, I think the new vacation movie.

I don't have any Volkswagens now, but I have had in the past: a 1959 Beetle with fabric sunroof and 36 HP engine and a 1957 Beetle on a 1963 pan and running a 1600cc single port heads engine.
