Return to DiscussionsSo I live in a typical Cincinnati neighborhood of ~1/3 acre, 2 story houses. The house to my left can see over the hedge row from their 2nd floor window and see most of my backyard. A couple of years ago this house was sold and stayed empty for a few months, so I took the opportunity to work and relax naked in the backyard. One day I was sawing some tree limbs in the buff and heard a "WooHoo!!". This obviously took me by surprise and the only place it could have come from was the empty house. I looked but could not see anyone. I found out later that one of the new owners, female, had moved in, (the husband was to come later). I did eventually meet them and have no idea if she told the husband. To this day she's never said a word about it!
So my wife and I bought a new home in Las Vegas. It was surrounded by a block wall and of course the house letting us enjoy nude swimming and soaking in the spa. We have had fellow nudist friends over and enjoyed nude swimming, hot tubbing and BBQs. Un-fortunately my wife passed and I was left alone. I had met friends on TN and invited them over for nude swims. Eventually this expanded to where I had a few couples over. Well my son who lived in Honolulu was visiting but staying in a hotel on the Strip. One Saturday I had nudist friends over while my son was in town. I had asked him to text me if they planned to come by. I guess I didnt hear the text because he and his wife stopped by. Seeing us all in the pool Nude and sunning they just quietly left. It wasnt until later he told me.

They should have joined in - they probably would have enjoyed it like most people do the first time.

It pays to come clean with family and close friends about your nudism, even when you're just in your own home and entertaining. I kept my nudism hidden from family for a few years and made up lies and avoided possible naked interaction, which was difficult to maintain and not mentally healthy. Once it was all out in the open life was simpler and happier.
If your son knew you enjoyed naked at home times and with friends, this shocking moment wouldn't have happened. It ended up being a negative experience and could have been avoided. I realize you didn't give much backstory and we don't know, your son may be a bible-thumping pastor! Honesty often goes underrated. And by you suggesting he text his intentions also caused trouble. A real phone call would've likely kept ringing (depending on number of rings before voicemail kicks in) and may have alerted you more effectively than a little bling of his text being sent. I hope your son and DIL have gotten over their embarrassment upon seeing you and your friends enjoying the natural life.
