self-acceptance

I'm curious as to the thoughts of the group on this idea: Being able to present oneself nude to others is the ultimate act of self-acceptance.

RE:self-acceptance

Yes, it is also the ultimate act of self acceptance in that we open ourselves up and make ourselves vulnerable when naked. There is nothing hiding us from the world and we are totally exposed. We are also accepted by others with no pretense of clothing, money or social status. Only our behavior and actions. I have seen some pretty louse behavior, but that's another post for another day ... LOL.

I suppose it depends on where you are. At the nude beach I like to go to, Sauvie Island, I don't think your comment is true. If you find yourself on a beach with normal people, mostly nude, you will see normal people. Maybe playing volleyball, beach games, or whatever. No need for comparison. To me it is an issue of freedom. At the nude beach you can be you, and people aren't hiding behind clothes, masks, makeup, or whatever. I think it is easier to socialize there, barriers are stripped away.

I never thought of it as 'presenting myself nude to others' or in terms of self-acceptance. Rather I think about whether others are able to accept seeing me as I am - as God made me.
