For those of you that do not know (like myself) who RR is:
Fr(iar). Richard Rohr is a globally recognized ecumenical teacher bearing witness to the universal awakening within Christian mysticism and the Perennial Tradition. He is a Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC)in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fr. Richards teaching is grounded in the Franciscan alternative orthodoxypractices of contemplation and self-emptying, expressing itself inradical compassion, particularly for the socially marginalized.Fr. Richard is the author of numerous books, including , , , , , , and . His newest bookisThe Divine Dance: The Trinity and Your Transformation(with Mike Morrell).Fr. Richard is academic Dean of theLiving School for Action and Contemplation. Drawing upon Christianitys placewithin the Perennial Tradition, the mission of the Living School is to produce compassionate and powerfully learned individuals who will work for positive change in the world based on awareness of our common union with God and all beings.I am sure the TN editor will butcher the links above so: https://cac.org/richard-rohr/richard-rohr-ofm/ is the addr. I am not sure that his "naked" is always just the physical naked. more like the spiritually naked before God - perhaps. It may just be my simplistic view, but this seems a bit too mystical to me and I am not convince that God ever wanted to make it hard for us to find him. I do however love his catchy book titles.

RE: Thought-provoking quote

Thanks for your thoughtful provision of background info on R Rohr. I think he intends nakedness as a spiritual metaphor. Do you see a connection between the metaphor and actual nudity?

RE: Thought-provoking quote

Without actual physical nudity as a hook the metaphor would have no context and therefore no meaning.
