Are you on staff, or clergy? Please message me as I would like to connect with other clergy or staff. Thanks.I am a pastor and my wife also works in the church. We are active in a local group and enjoy social nudism and being outdoors in warm weather.

NudeNate...how have you been hurt by the "church"? I have always been an "out of the box" pastor, and that type of thinking is not well accepted in many of the "mainline" faiths. It has always been my intention to offer love, grace and forgiveness NO MATTER what.... Back at you bud....for the same.....

Regardless of whether a church is conservative (fundamentalist) or liberal (mainline), it is the same situation. Church members have not been enlightened and they have the belief that nudism equals sex, hence "Thou shalt not commit adultery" speaks to them.

Was "clergy", left that position quite a few years back. Having studied the Christian movement, especially the first 300 hundred years, could no longer support going to "church," now when I meet with other believers we meet in a home without a designated leader other than the Holy Spirit directing us. Everyone contributes, no one dominates, we have dialog not a monolog as is experienced in the church today. If we are to truly follow Scriptures as we like to claim, then the structure as we have been taught is so far off base we shouldn't be supprised of the hurts and spiritual abuse that takes place from leadership.I've been in the place where we met as the early Christians did, long story but miss those days of meeting. It is too bad that we try to start more "churches" or have home Bible studies, but neither is a good answer, it is meeting in relationship with the Father and other believers, not getting smarter about doctrine or correct teaching, but it is about meeting and having relationship.Dave
I fully agree that what is professed to be Christianity in the widest group of churches (religious buildings) is not truly Biblically based.
I do not currently work in or for a church but am strongly lead by the Holy Spirit to do something in a capacity for the Body of Christ and am on the lookout to find the right place and to be receptive when God places me there.

I am an ordained Deacon in our church and my wife has sung in the choir in the past.
Several of our friends in our church know we are nudist, even one of our retired assistant pastors knew also.
We have never had a negative reaction from anyone; actually we have had a lot of interest from some, mostly the young couples and one of the young ordained preachers showed the most interest before they moved to another church.

I'm not currently involved in church leadership but I have been in the past where I used to attend. A former pastor and I locked horns a few times as I felt he was "going over my head" doing things that were really my responsibility. We got involved with a missionary that wanted to set up a business in a foreign country as a "front" for missions. Early on in the process I felt he was not being totally honest with us while the pastor thought he was God's Chosen. To make a long story short, my instincts proved correct 4 years later.

I'd like to be involved again but my work situation really doesn't allow me the time to do anything.

No, but I am on several committees at the local and regional level.

Like many of the replies you have received, we were very involved in a church (Deacon and Elder) until some turmoil and non-christian like behavior by some of the "established leadership" of the church. The Pastor and Elders left the church, as did many of the members. Since I have been ordained in another church and have only used that authority to perform a wedding ceremony. Frankly I find the typical behavior of the nudists I have met to be more open and honest than the "established leadership" I tried to work with at the church. I pray you're finding the answers you are looking for.
