Return to DiscussionsI disagree with those that say that nudism is not sexual, it is like saying being a Christian is not sexual.
There are alot of roles I can choose in life, but being sexual is not one of them. Now the desire for sex can diminish as for many middle aged men or increase as for many middle aged women. It is not having the feelings that are the issue, but what we do with them.
I have always been amazed in the bible where Jesus had kind words for people who were sexually active and harsh words to the point of profanity and name calling for the religious leaders at the time who choose to interpret for the people who God is for them and choose to stand between them and God.
I think we all have to work out the details of our lives and we do not need each others condemnation, but we need encourgement.
I see nudity as an honest and positive expression of our sexual nature, but that is because I am naked in places that are appropriate for that. The bible does say that all things are lawful, but not all things expedient, so I might camp in the forest nude, but hike the trail clothed out of consderation of others that believe differently
Exactly, something can EXIST without being a main focus. I think it's unhealthy for something like sex to either be totally pervasive or completely eradicated in anything. It's like people that either drink til they die of alcohol poisoning or not drink at all...
We are sexual beings from the moment of our conception, when the XX or XY chromosome pair begins working its genetic magic. Thus nudity is inherently sexual, because we can't put off our sexuality just because we take our clothes off. Sexuality isn't about sex, but being sexual beings. We can be nude without having sex.
