Happy Ascension Day
Return to DiscussionsA few hours early (by UK time, anyway), but best wishes as we celebrate Ascension Day. I used to think this was the most important day of the Christian year, because it celebrates the completion of the story of salvation, and there is certainly a truth in that, but I now realise that Advent Sunday is even more important, because it reminds us that the story does not all lie in the past and is still unfinished.

Many churches in the US celebrate Ascension on the following Sunday.
