RE: Outside the Tomb

Well it is believed that Jesus was naked since His grave cloth was left in the tomb. In those days it was typical for workers to work nude so they wouldn't soil the only garment they owned. It is quite believable that Mary, in her great grief, mistook the nude Christ for the gardener.

Wow, that is very interesting. I have found many Biblical nudity references and was not aware of that - as I did not know it was the tradition of gardeners to work nude. Thank you very much for that info, I am sure I will use it in future discussions.

Like Nuderunner said Workers in general not onlygardeners worked nude. Even fishermen worked nude and guess what some of the deciples were before they followed Jesus.

Some of His followers were constrained to not recognize Him after the resurrection also. Since Jesus was crucified naked, after the resurrection He would have been nude until He acquired more clothing. The soldiers divided up His clothing while He was on the cross, so He didn't have a stitch to His name.
