My impression, for what it's worth, is that more UK guys are getting circumcised these days, either from choice or need.

FYI in the 50s and 60s 50 percent of the male British Population was circumcised. After some anti circumcision publications by one particular doctor, it started falling out of favor. Circumcision is now having a resurgence. In Europe it was almost non existent. Now due to influences around American military bases, some health data that shows that it has benefits also the muslim influence since mostly all muslims are circumcised, there is a slow growing popularity for the procedure. I had mine done in my 50s and i can tell you i prefer it 100 percent over not being circumcised. www.circinfo.net

I think 50 % of males circumsized in the 50/60 is an over estimate more like 10/15%As for Europe, very rare over there ,the European ladies all seemed to like it when i lived thereMe i'am very pround of being a Roundhead

Are we becoming a rare breed?I think that sadly circumcised men are becoming more rare in most Western countries except the USA or with significant Muslim populations.
Here in Australia men older than 40 are circumcised but those under this age are increasingly intact.
Among UK nudists an early advocate of circumcision was Leslie Bainbridge who was the editor of the naturist magazine Health & Efficiency (H&E). He was the editor for a number of years in the 1970s and the editorial and letters pages frequently contained views on circumcision and what was then called depilation. Editorial policy was greatly in favour of both these practices. Among the general population shaving pubic hair was then thought to be a sexual perversion. I was certainly drawn to Leslie Bainbridge's views when I came across old magazines because they confirmed my instincitive appeal for circumcision as being acceptable and its attaction, as not unusual.
I believe there was a significant following of shaving and circumcision among the nudists because they later came to group together under the title S&C naturists ie Shaved and cut naturists. Members of both sexes had to be fully shaved in the pubic areas and the men had to be circumcised. The group, while not large, was very committed to these causes and to nudism. There was a magazine, regular meetings and for a short while there was even a web-site. Sadly, nothing now remains of the group.
While there have been small increases in circumcision among some groups in Europe e.g. German men, some UK men I do not think the recent increases are significant. America continues to be the only country where there is routine circumcision although the intactivists are making inroads there too. The increases have been among those who go to saunas or nude beaches in Germany where many men who are not circumcised habitually roll back the foreskin behind the glans when they are nude. Some among them thought that they want their glans permanently exposed and is more attractive and underwent circumcision. To a lesser degree this has also been the case in France and Italy. I also believe there has been an increase among European gay men principally for aesthetic reasons.
I think that some younger men also prefer the circumcised look and have had surgery for aesthetic reasons. One factor in all this is the cost of circumcision which has continued to increase and is no longer covered by public medical authorities or insurance unless the procedure is medically necessary e.g. to overcome phimosis.

I was circumcised as a very small baby for medical reasons and growing up in 1950/60's Britain, my experience was that circumcision was quite rare. I came across no other circumcised males during my 13 years of state education. I would say that the percentage of males circumcised during that period was way under 2%. The NHS will not carry out medical procedures that are unnecessary, unlike the USA where it is obviously a money making racket. The foreskin is there for a reason, I think that it should be left intact unless there are medical reasons to remove it. If men want cosmetic surgery on their penis they should pay privately for it!

when I visit any naturist site or use the local pool/gym showers I do not often see another circumcised guy. If I do, they are usually over 60. Alaways happy to be naked and show off my tiny circumcised dick.
