Return to DiscussionsNot long ago a friend and I were bar hopping and ended up at a gay bar near my home. I knew the owner and while my friend was in the bathroom I asked the owner if he minded me being nude. He said go for it, so I did. I sat at the bar naked and had a few drinks. Other guys were looking at me but no one touched, unfortunately. It was a great feeling: exciting, liberating, sensual and at the same time submissive, exposed to everyone. I want to do it again as soon as we can go out again!
What a lovely account of what must have been a very satisfying day at the beach. There is so little communication between groups at the beach, and the fact that you were naked throughout says a lot for that society.
Spanish social culture is regardless of whether it is more conservative or liberal an eye opener and a delight. Your behavior is tolerated and accepted based on what you are doing and how you are connecting with your peers and how well social convention is maintained (ideally all seek to minimize conflicts and criticisms while supporting understanding and community. Both Euskeri and Catalonia have experienced political and social strife and Spain did have a bloody Civil War. Those lessons are certainly not ignored in the present. And people are deeply political. Just not in leisure time or space.
